Last week, we held our final parking management team meeting before our presentation to the City Council on June 18th.
NDDC Founder, former Board Member, and long-time Chair of the NDDC Parking Task Force Keith Covey and I were there representing the NDDC.
City staff included City Administrator Tim Madigan, Community Planning & Development Director Chris Heineman, and Public Works Director/City Engineer Joe Stapf.
City Councilors David DeLong and Jessica Peterson-White (members of the Council’s Downtown Parking Subcommittee) attended along with online citizen engagement consultant Griff Wigley.
The discussion moved further beyond the initial views and ideas from the stakeholder groups to focus on specific recommendations. These recommendations touch upon enforcement, parking limits and locations, wayfinding and parking signage, enhancing bicycle and pedestrian commuting, information sharing, the different abilities of different populations, and reducing speeds on key roads.
Detailed feedback from the Councilors was sought and received, and will be incorporated into the version included in the Council packet. The packet will be distributed later this week.
